Peter Hampus is an active leader of Sweden’s biggest cycling club Fredrikshof, and has for some years led “Hofvets” fast group in Vätternrundan.

Cycling – both road and mountain biking – is close to his heart.
Peters shares his views on coaching:

– “For me, coaching is individual and personal. Training programs can be copied from Runners World, Bicycling, or other newspapers. But to really develop and reach ones potential we need to meet. To talk. Train together. Discuss goals. Possibly revise the objectives depending on how it goes or what happens.
Being a personal trainer via email is not my thing. “Hey hey, this week you should run 50 km divided into these workouts …” Neither do I want to just be a personal trainer. To receive both the mental and the physical in coaching or performance development.
The training will be adapted to how the client responded to the previous exercise. In which phase you are, how you feel in both body and mind. There should be a balance between getting out of the comfort zone, to recover, squeeze, have fun, suffer and enjoy.

    If you periodize your training, you should be sure to have a tougher time posted this weekend.

    A mini-training camp that focuses on pushing up your threshold with some tough kilometers and climbing in a short period of time.

  • Seroius riding with a focus on performing well at Vätternrundan. An intensive week with many kilometers and high intensity training.
    The aim is increasing your stamina, one step up before the Vätternrundan. A little calmer period after this week for recovery means that capacity increases significantly. Focus is on group cycling, intervals, speed, technique, oxygen uptake. Get ready for a fantastic week!
